I had the same problem with BFR. I ended up cutting through the bolt, then I soaked the insert in "plus gas" over night & then managed to extract the remains of the bolt using a hammer & centre pop. I already had spare bolts so I didn't mind cutting it.
Sprintless for the first time in 35+ years. :boggle2: ... Still Sprintless.

Engines, Gearboxes, Overdrives etc. rebuilt. PM me.

I'll get on to this before next weekend as my Mate is helping me weld the chassis up then.

Went and saw my new nephew on saturday so no work done then.
But today Sunday i got the Diffs swapped over, have to get some new brake hoses made.
So soo long with nuts being crazy tight and the Shocks bolted in funny.

Switched the cars from one bay to the other and got drenched which ended my day.
Although it took all day to do.

Inspected various bits and pieces.

Any how some decent pics.

Well i haven't had the time to do much on the car after work as i have been staying at my girfriends and my car is at mine.
She is now off at uni for her 2nd year, though i will see her weekends etc.
I still miss her like crazy, planning to try spend an hour or 2 each night on the car.
Making progress not just stuffing around and getting side tracked.

Any how first i got on the car tonight i remove the brake booster and master cylinder from the car, that was pretty time consuming.
I think i might get a new master cylinder as i can prob get one for around $20NZ or so, the one off it aint that great and my one on the sprint aint all that much better i wouldn't think.

I can't for the love of good separate the Booster and the Master off the 1850.

There was a small amount of surface rust along the seam where two parts are welded together on the firewall, i got my rust remover wheel on the airtool and gave it a good few spins. Found a small rust hole. Bit of a bugger but that will get patched up to this weekend.
Pics tomorrow

I will just clean up the sprint brake booster.
Needs a bit of a de rust sand and a good paint i think.

Tomorrow night i will hopefully remove the bottom of the sprint dash and get the booster and master out of there.

This weekend my brother in law is coming over to patch up the chassis at the front and anything else in the engine bay that needs to be done before the motor gets back in there.
He wants to get the whole car done but my GF will be home from Uni so i want to be able to spend time with her.

The other stuff can be done with the motor still in.

So yea Update tomorrow i Guess

Mate i will post some pics tonight.
We did a f$$king Amazing Job Excuse my French

THough we only got that hole done as we had to use a tig with gas.

Decided not to patch that hole in the firewall, were just going to drill it out and use a gland with a washer each side.

You just wait, it is so clean.

Was not to lazy tonight, got the torque converter off, flywheel and the insert that it bolts to.
Also took the sump off, hoping to maybe find the washer i think may have fallen in the block.
I did not find it but i did find 4 small chips of plastic.
I can't think of what they could be??? Maybe something off my water pump or something?

I haven't taken the timing cover off i guess i should have taken that off before i took everything else off as the nut is still in the bottom pully
Opps

Hope there are some positive comments out there.
Will hopefully get the pulley and timing chain cover off tomorrow.
Then i will put my new cover on and take the block and cover to be matched skim the top of the timing chain cover. then assemble the motor again less the head, and put it back in the car do check i have all the parts, it fits, anything i got to change etc, then pull my dads driveshaft out make sure its a perfect fit and get one made to the same as his.
I Might even have it all read to run so i can make sure the box etc is sweet as a nut before yet throwing more money at her.
