- 1971 Triumph 1500 (was FWD!) - Sprint powertrain, heavily modified (now sold)
- 1974 Dolomite Sprint - 3.5 Rover EFi, 5 speed box, tuned, new daily!
- 1978 1850HL auto, with some modern bits, (now sold)
- 1979 1500SE MOD, black HL interior, current daily
- 1980 Dolomite Sprint MOD (now sold)...

Every now and then, a Mercedes Benz C240 - usually when I'm between cars or trying not to drive one (well, when I sold the tuned 1500 I was trying not to drive it, in case the box blew up!)

I'll pick up a few different things soon, still, haven't reached my 21st birthday yet so got a few to go still

Still lusting for that De Tomaso!

Hmm.

Vauxhall Corsa 1.5D
Ford Ka 1.3
1991 Vauxhall Astra 1.4i Merit
1996 Vauxhall Astra 1.4i (full factory bodykit though, and 15" alloys)

And that's all I drove as a teenager.

My list of cars so far:

- '89 Mk3 Fiesta 1.1 (learnt to drive in)
- '89 Mk2 Fiesta 1.4S (Shed, sold to banger racers)
- '93 VW Polo 1.3 Genesis (sold)
- '89 Volvo 360 (broken, awaiting major heart surgery)
- '77 1850HL (less broken than the volvo)

Technically only the first two were while I was a teenager however...

Too many cars to list the whole lot (and too far past being a teenager)

First car - mini clubman, then a shove it, then a load more minis (all almost scrap by the time I got them) and a beetle baja bug conversion - they look ugly when you roll them.

Made it into sunbeams by the time I was about 20 IIRC.

Actually drove a load of cars though, stuff borrowed from mates and all that simca 1100 and a suzuki whizzkid being the most memorable (for good and bad reasons)

My first car was a Herald 12/50 (can't remember the year). Then I had an E reg. 850cc mini with twin carbs, wide wheels, big bore tail pipe, extra brake lights & one of those plastic dashes with extra gauges. Then a stage 1 tuned (hub caps removed) 1200cc black Angle box. Then a G reg. 1725 Singer Vogue which had "jack ups" on the rear suspension.

All paid for by me.

Ahh! those were the days. :D
Sprintless for the first time in 35+ years. :boggle2: ... Still Sprintless.

Engines, Gearboxes, Overdrives etc. rebuilt. PM me.

My list

#9 Post by SprintMWU773V »

I've had a particularly unexciting cars owned to date list:

1988 Ford Fiesta D183 XRX- First car in 1997

1992 Rover 214SLi J982 HYS- Two tone grey and green with beige upholstery

1997 Rover 416SLi P151 LNH - Not my fave only owned for a year and 20k

2002 Ford Focus - Had since 2003, still like it but dull

2003 Daewoo Lacetti Saloon - A very reasonably priced car but an auto and my old company car. Two words, WHITE GOODS.

1980 Sprint - Owned since 2003, first classic car and not the last

My Fiesta currently resides in Thames Water's car park in Reading where it has been since 1998 when I sold it to a friend. My 214 is not known but it had 113k on it when I sold it in 2001 so probably gone now. My 416 languished at a used car dealer between March 2003 and June 2006 where it was for sale at a silly price. The Daewooooooo was bought by a lady that works at my local Shell garage.
Mark

1961 Chevrolet Corvair Greenbrier Sportswagon
1980 Dolomite Sprint project using brand new shell
2009 Mazda MX5 2.0 Sport

Cars of my teens....

#10 Post by Jon Tilson »

were all Rileys...

a 1.5, then a 4/68 (Farina) and finally a Kestrel 1100...

59 the 4/68 was utterly brilliant.....cost me 18 quid and lasted 3 years.
Then I broke it and used the innards in an Oxford that I bought for 25 quid and sold for 60....

Note from Admin: sadly Jon passed away in February 2018 but his humour and wealth of knowledge will be fondly remembered by all. RIP Jonners.

First my father's BMW 5-series ... until I crashed it into a Mercedes (minor damage luckily)
Then my mother's VW Golf GTI ... until someone saw me do handbrake turns with it and told my parents

Finally a totally knackered Mini 850 which I paid for myself, quickly replaced by a very nice one-owner Daf 33 (which I kept for 13 years)

I thought this thread was about what cars you drove in your late teens...not every car you've had.

First car, ORG 27R Dolomite Sprint, never been able to give her up :-({|=
, but she's spent the last 11 years rotting away. Slowly coming back to her former glory, all be it with another shell.

I had a Dolly 1850HL as my first car, christened the Dodgy Dolly by my friends, few head gasket probs

Followed by a 1972 MG BGT that came in a few old teachests.

Got to drive me Mums MK1 Astra and me Dads Granada 2.8i Ghia Estate in Champagne Gold, what a monster that was!

Those were my teenage driving experiences, I had many of the same experiences Adam is now dealing with, but of course we didn't have the net back then! I didn't go to uni as a teenager, I knew I'd be kicked out after the first year though, I went back as a 'mature' student at the ripe old age of 25.
