Sorry I'm a few days behind - (it takes a little longer for the wiggly amps to travel this far west!) but I think that was my first SODIT as well and if I recall you (is that James) travelled with me in my Mimosa Sprint, (KLR93P), Andy Moss's Russet Sprint (TCV818S) (resprayed french blue recently) and Steve & Debbie Millar's Russet Sprint. I remember thinking that, apart from the blue sprint, we could have been mistaken for a banana/brown bread sarnie - (brown yellow brown). After a few miles I was keen to take the lead so this colour scheme broke up. Haven't seen as good a turn out since!dailysprinter wrote:It was my first SODIT, travelled up from cornwall in a blue sprint PRW387W, joined in with Cornwall & Devon group and won best area display.
I remember lots of those cars, just forgotten the owners names.

Yep that's me. There were 5 or 6 of us entered in the "Budget Concours" I think the blue one won, he had only finished respraying it the night before.
I remember HUD well. Now I've seen it again........HUD-Adam-HUD-Adam...

Yes Adam, it has a huge brace right across the rear of the front seats making it imposible to push the front seats further back. The back seats were nearly impossible to sit in to as the footwell was taken up with the brace.
That's all the pictures I have, I did send some to the then editor of DM but in true Vision On style: "we cannot return any of your pictures"
So, I guess thats that - unless anyone else would like to share their albums with us?

Nice work Dave, another v8 creeps out of the woodwork. Which one was it? Looks unlikely it still exists tho.

My header tank is in the same place as yours by the sounds of things - where his is in that photo is swallowed up by my K&N filter and AFM.
I don't think I have to take my rad out to change my filter. I haven't given it much look though but it looked like plenty of room around it
......Then again, mine is quite a way back!

Some pics from SODIT (Gaydon). Mary's Ice Blue Sprint in the foreground (RIP).

This is the car that inspired me to restore my Brooklands Sprint...

This was a photo I found whilst rumageing for the others. This was when I was area rep, taken at Shepton Mallet. Graeme & Carol on the left with ADA, and myself & Mary on the right. I can't remember who's 1850 that was. I remember the guy being in his 70s or 80s but he couldn't make it to the show so we borrowed the car for the day.

Hi Chaps
I can confirm that HUD is still alive although I'm not sure if kicking!
It belongs to Steve Lester in Banbury who is pictured standing next to it. I believe the car belonged to his parents before they donated it to him to look after and cherish.....and have the roof cut off!
The car looks quite presentable in the pic......that was 10 yrs ago though! It needs to be seen in the flesh to fully appreciate!

Hi yellow Banana Mike Taylor.
And yes it is James from Cornwall, I met you there and covoyed back, I was'nt sure if you drove up in the Citroen, maybe that was another year.
I have'nt ventured to a SODIT in years, I'm always busy with wedding work in September
