EWP - water flow direction

#1 Post by speedracer »

Hi all,

After having a very close look at a racing Sprint with a water hose connecting the back of the head with the back of the water pump i've got a concern that i've got my plumbing backwards.

The car i looked at was running a 6 vane impeller and the water flow was described to me as "water is pumped out through the big outlet of the pump cover, through the rad, into the head then sucked out through the back of the head to the back of the pump cover". FYI this car had no heater.

Now, i have an EWP and EPB fitted so I've had the opportunity to inadvertently change the water flow.

My flow goes like: the EWP is level with the bottom rad hose and pumps water up to the pump cover. The EPB pumps water from the back of the pump cover to the heater matrix then into the back of the head.

What i need to know is:
1. is water meant to go out from the big outlet of the pump cover or into it?
2. for those of you running EWPs how is it setup
