Just in case anyone's interested - There's a Classic Saloon Car Club race meeting at Mallory on Sunday.
Hoping for a good showing of the Dolomite Sprints in the 'Post Historic Touring Cars', from the likes of Messrs: Garrett; Kett; Crudgington; Osborne; Pickard; Selfe; and anyone else I've forgotten. Who knows ?... I might even finally get to see (have so far managed to miss every event that he's attended ) Ken Clarke's Sprint perform ?

Haven't seen Ken Clarke in Post Historics for years now. He did a bit of Top Hat more recently, but wasn't racing at Donington 2 weekends ago, although a car prepped by him was racing (and winning).
Mallory this Sunday might be tricky for me as I should be up in Cheshire looking at places to live. But hey, I can do that on Monday night after work.
Ken had a few 'outings' in 2005, and Mallory was one of the circuits he visited - living in hope, I guess. Was rather hoping that, now Nigel Garret has put the Camaro away and brought his Sprint out to play again ; it might lure a few others out to play.
Yeah; real shame about that Taunus getting tangled up with the Alfa & Minor - he hit the armco with a hell of a thump - My wife was in the loo at the time, and she said the noise made her jump off the seat.
I know it's 'all part of the game' and a risk the drivers willingly take; but, it breaks my heart to see those cars getting damaged to that extent; after all the time and effort (not to mention the expense) the owners put into them - I mean... where the hell do you find spares for a Ford Taunus ?
