Andy's Christmas Message

#1 Post by triumphdolomiteuk »

It seems like no time at all since I was sitting here and typing my Christmas message for 2005 - are the years becoming shorter or is life just moving along at a faster pace? :-k
Anyway, it's been another successful year - the Club is still going strong, there are still Dolomites on the road and the world hasn't stopped spinning on its axis :D . I'm not sure who the thank for the final part of that trilogy, but I can heap praise on the hundreds of Dolomite enthusiasts out there for playing their part to ensure that the first two statements were true.
Everyone reading this will be aware that we are now using our new Discussion Forum, which has been a great improvement over our previous system, despite a few "teething problems". I'd like to thank Stuart for setting this up for us, he did a great job! =D> If you haven't yet looked through our archives, feel free to explore - there is a wealth of information contained in them and it's so easy to search for it.
The Club has put on several displays at major shows throughout the year which has resulted in a much higher profile for the Club and the cars. I'd like to thank everyone who helped organise these displays, you all worked very hard and your efforts have been much appeciated. :clapping:
Club members will have noticed that we've recruited several new officials to help with the day-to-day running of the Club. This will result in a better service for our members and it will allow the committee to concentrate on moving the Club forward in what may turn out to be quite challenging times ahead.
Looking forward to 2007, I hope that we'll see even more of you attending our events and that the cars will continue to attract the attention of the classic car press and the public. I also hope that more of you will join the Club (it's only £26 for goodness' sake! [-X ), it really is in your best interests to do so.
On behalf of the committee, I'd like to wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Peaceful and Prosperous New Year. :santa:
-Andy.

Can I be the first to say thanks Andy to you and all the committee for another successful year. As someone who benefits from the club, but doesn't put that much back in (apart from old core for Malc occasionally) I don't know how you guys find the time. So thanks again and roll on 2007.

I would also like to thank all the club officers for all the hard work that they have put in during the year.

As Andy states 2006 has been a good year for the club and I am looking forward to 2007.

Andy,

I totally agree with the sentiments expressed by David above. We are indeed fortunate to have so many dedicated people (especially you), without whom we would not enjoy the successful Club we do now.

I also think that 2006 has been a vintage year for the Club. :D

The new Forum is so much better than that which preceded it, and I am sure will over time only add to the interest and enthusiasm in the cars.

The big step forward during 2006 though, must be the vastly increased exposure the Dolomite range (and inter alia the Club) has received in the mainstream classic car press. This also can only increase interest and enthusiasm for these cars. Full marks to you and your committee colleagues for the behind the scenes work you did in generating these articles.

Its really nice to see some "new" faces taking on some of the officer roles in the Club. This, as you correctly infer, will allow the committee to concentrate on the strategic direction of the Club, and increasing exposure of the cars even more.

Our magazine has come on in leaps and bounds, and is now truly a quality document, and as such, an excellent PR tool for the Club. So well done to all involved in keeping this Club going. :clapping:

On a personal note, 2006 has not been such a vintage year for me (and continues to be rather difficult). Let me take this opportunity to thank all the many and various Club members who have offered words of support and encouragement over the last few months. It has been much appreciated.

I look forward to hopefully seeing rather more of you all next year!
Martin.

I'd just like to reiterate the above sentiments, well done everybody.

We always get a fair bit of interest in our Dollys at track days too. Hopefully more will join in the fun in 2007. :D

The club goes from strength to strength, I've been a member for around 12 years now and have to say that the club had never been so good, thanks to all commitee members, thanks must also go to both Malc and Alun for the constant re-sourcing of repair/spare parts for the cars in the club, without this there would be no future for the cars.

Merry Christmas to all members of the Triumph Dolomite Club and forum members.

Well, I'm sure glad to have joined, well worth the £26 if only to see what you're all talking about in the club members only forum... :P

I too would like to thank Andy and all the club officials for all their efforts, and the new forum really is great :D

Maybe next year my dolly will be able to make it to some shows under its own steam... and put some more faces to names :D
