Engine crane seal kits

#1 Post by 2F45T4U »

May be off to buy an engine crane tommrow for a tenner! Has knackerd seals and my mates boss (works for Days) put it in the scrap skip. I've seen one crane on ebay that came with a seal kit that was apparantly worth £22.50. A small price to pay if all this crane needs is seals. Problem is I can't find anything on google for Clarke engine cranes and seals. Or any other engine crane for that matter!

Do you guys know if and where I can get them from?

Thanks, Adam

If you can give me the sizes or numbers off the old seals i can get new ones from our industrial suppliers - usually cheaper and better quality than over shop counters!

Excellent :D I'll get round to taking it apart soon.

Also any chance you could give me an itemised bill at the end of it but with a few 000s added to the price?

This crane was in the scrap bin where my mate works at Days. He asked his Boss if I could have it and at first it was free for me to take away, then 2 days later it was £10, now it's, can you give it back when your done and we'll pay you for the seals. So a bill of about £150 and the crane being in 'Oxford' should put him off!

It was in the bin for Christ sake! Ba**ard :twisted: :P

tell him in a few weeks.... it's in oxford but was unable to get seals cause it's now an obsolete model etc... and if he wants it you'll drop it back for the petrol money otherwise you will dispose of the scrap for him etc...

He sold it to you, just tell him you want to keep it.

No he didn't sell it to me. "Give it back when your done and he'll reimburse you for the seals"

My way of thinking about it is that it was binned by them as it wasn't worth fixing, they've got a new one btw. With the £10 and I can have it deal it was because "he was going to give it to one of the boys in work but for £10 you can have it" :lol: what a load of bollox but I thought ahwell £10 isn't to bad. As soon as someone is going to fix it he want's it back!

As Johnny Ball (Zoe's dad!) used to say;
