Castle Coombe Club Triumph/MGOC Track day - Monday 14 July

#1 Post by mbellinger »

I see that a few of the usual suspects on here have registered for this day....

Me
Mad Mart
Chris 2 Toledos
Trackerjack

I also see that in their infinite wisdom the organisers have placed us all in the same group which should be interesting, if nothing else...... :D 8)

Yep, all the CT lot are in the same sessions (we scared the MG owners at Silverstone so they won't let us play with them any more  ). Can't wait for Monday, although the weather forecast ain't great...again. My Sprint passed it's MOT test today and it's going on the rollers tomorrow afternoon (Interpro, Thornbury).

Where's InterPro ?... and what time are you booked in for ? I've got to do a couple of jobs at Thornbury tomorrow... might be able to escape and pop along for a nose :)

OMG !... how spooky... have just Googled 'InterPro' and it's quite literally a stone's throw from where I'll be. Amazing; I've been to 'Short Way' on numerous occasions, and had no idea there was a rolloing road, just over the way.

I am an exceptionally unhappy bunny.

This week the Toledo has been treated to the famous Trackerjack brake conversion, new ball joints and new braided brake hoses. The results are awesome.

BUT

I have had to pull out of Monday's track fest (GRRR!! )

It is for work reasons (and very unpleasant work reasons). My days leave has been cancelled so that I can make a load of my staff redundant. :(

So I can't play cars because I have to take peoples livelihoods away who have been loyal, dilligent and effective in their jobs. I am frankly, dreading it.

If anyone else wants to swap Monday's with me they are welcome. I am thoroughly fed up.
Martin.

What a bummer! I was looking forward to a bit of a "dice" with you Martin. Don't envy your task either. :(

It's tough at the top..... so they tell me :?

Don't envy you that task, at all.

Shame; would have been nice to play with another Toledo.... not that I would have been any sort of competition for your 175 (odd) bhp :(

Had a great time...again. :D

The Sprint performed faultlessly, I never even had to top the water up. Only went off the track once as well (vid to follow).

Had a bit of a dice with a Midget in this video, then tracked down Trackerjack.

Nice video Mart.

I kept glancing out of the window yesterday at the balmy sunshine and thought of you lot, you buggers.

My day was as horrific as expected. :(

I really enjoyed the vid Mart, your car seems to handle really well!
And the engine… whaa it sounds and pulls like a dream :D

What was the outcome of the RR session last week?
And is your flywheel lightened :?:

Cheers,
Ronald

The car handles very well & I was chucking it into the bends with confidence yesterday.

The rolling road session went well (apart from me spending about 3 times as much as anticipated :boggle2: ). Maxed out at 170 bhp (flywheel). For some reason though it struggles to get to 6500 rpm.

I don't have a lightened flywheel although the bottom end is lightened & balanced.
