First Hill climb

#1 Post by speedracer »

Hi guys,

Just wanted to share with you the fact that i've just completed my first hill climb - i even managed to do better than last, and am the proud owner of 4 championship points!

5th in class and beaten by:
- a very hot dastun 1600
- an Escort
- an MGB
- an Alfa GTV

I've written it all up at the end of this post: http://forums.triumphowners.com/viewtopic.php?t=62

Cheers,
Garth

good work Garth. Just getting out there and giving it a go is worth praise :D

considering it was your first event you have done well. There would be a lot of finer points to master and more practice would be essential.

well done.

Well done Garth.

You now have to make sure that the MGB does not beat you again! I can live been beaten by a modified Datsun 1600, an Escort and even an Alfa GTV, but a bloody MGB, you will now have to pul lthe finger out!!!!!

When i use to run my "Street Sedan Dolomite", the red car, (which is now back in my possession), I use to find on street tyres, 4000rpm take off with LSD, and 2500rpm with open diff, but that is starting on the flat, and it does depend on the track surface.

I know, I know - it's just a case of more horsepower, less weight, go faster, brake later ...
