I've been in a few quick cars in my time, you know the usual M3's/Scooby's/EVO/Cossie type things and a couple of tweaked caterhams and elises, but I had a ride in what must be the most stupidly quick cars I've ever been passenger in today, which completely blew me expectations away.

A few months ago someone I know (the name isnt mentioned for obvious reasons!) acquired a cossie turbo'd RWD Mk1 Fiesta (stock cossie engine), it was quick as it only weights about 500kg due to the semi-spaceframe chassis, but we soon found that despite lapping castle coombe in the 1 minute 23, it had a suspect engine.

Engine has now been replaced with another, ahem, 'slightly' breathed on cossie engine that propelled a recorded 160mph in a Sapphire, it hasnt been rolling roaded but is estimated to be in the 350-400BHP sort of output. The thing is geared to max out on the rev limiter at 150mph in 5th.

After driving out of my road completely sideways at 80mph, he slowed for a roundabout, caught up with another car doing a leisurely 50 on the dual carraigeway, stayed behind for a while, then booted it, where it then took about 12 seconds for the needle to be at the endstop on the 140mph speedo, which I could just about make out in between gasping for breath! And yes, the speedo is reasonably accurate.

Bearing in mind it probably takes about 3-4 seconds to hit 50, thats about 15-16seconds to 140 ish. Totally bonkers for a car that looks like a 1.1 pop plus with a body kit. And then there is the terror in other drivers eyes are they see a little fwd chav wagon fishtailing past them at mindbending speed.

The car still looks a bit cack, but whereas I would happily slag it off before now I dont care what it looks like!

This must be what being in ALG1K is like!

My mates road cossie does 0-180 in 17 sec recorded with datron gear at elvington air strip for a mag u may have seen him on 5th gear doing 200 mph in his cardie like it was nothing.
