This question probably has been address a zillion times before I got on the board, but...
Is there anyway to top up a Sprint manual gearbox w/o having to remove the transmission tunnel? The filler plug looks and feels unaccessible from underneath.
Thanks,
Richard Truett
Topping up Sprint gearbox oil
Get one of those 500ml 'squezy type' geearoil bottles with a plastic spout. With car level (ramps and/or axle stands under all four corners) remove filler plug and 'squeeze oil in' until it starts to dribble out of the filler /level plug. If you go easy you don't end up with too much down your sleeve (stinks foul does g'box oil IMHO).
Use a 90 grade (was originally 75 grade with 90 top up, never did work that out). Ideally make sure it is a GL4 spec cos the GL5 spec contains stuff that isn't kind to some bearings.
Its easier if you keep the squeezy bottle full or its a bit like getting the last bit off toothpaste out a a tube at 'early doors' when you haven't got a new tube to use, possible but frustrating and time consuming. stand the bollte in warm water ebfore hand can also help. Alternative, cut yourself an access hole as per template in last mag

Cut yourself an access hatch as Malc said. Makes it a doddle to blead the clutch as well. Mines a bit rough but then it's only on my track Sprint.

one of those cheap oil cans with a flexi spout is also pretty good. From experience don't try and cut out a hole in the tunnel with a dremel it takes ages and you will break something. Use a decent tool designed for cutting thicker metal.
