Handy tip for topping up an autobox

#1 Post by Toledo Man »

Coming back from NDD I had to top up my leaky autobox. I was parked outside a Co-op so I bought some Lucozade Sport and after drinking the contents I filled it up with transmission fluid and used it to top up my autobox. Not only was it the perfect size for the job but the contents only come out if the bottle is squeezed. Nothing will come out even if the bottle is upside down. No mess and no waste.

I would just put the lucozade straight in the box....reckon it would liven it up a bit!

I like the orange flavoured one. As I said the bottle's just the right size.

Does a normal Lucozade bottle work or does it have to be the sport one? I think this top tip could also be useful for OHV clutch master cylinder filling. Thanks Toledoman!

I think it might be ATF in the bottle. :D

i think it looks more like the bottle for 'emergencies while stuck in traffic jams' which could be equally as useful, if you ever find yourself stuck in a traffic jam

bit uncertain about the top though, but still, a pretty useful bottle nonetheless.

That top would not be suitable for traffic jams imho, you would be better off getting out of the car
I'd recommend pulling the carpet back and removing the floor drain plug......

I didn't really type that did I?

But it does look a useful bottle nonetheless :)
