Wanted - YOUR car at TDCIR
Wanted - YOUR car at TDCIR
As many will have seen on this years TDCIR web site and magazine article this years club stand display will feature one example of each model from the 1300 / Dolomite range. The focus of the display will be to show how the range developed, the little changes as well as the big ones that happened along the way.
Our desire is to display as great a variety as possible, there are 13 models in the range. If our luck is in we'll see 13 different colours on the day, as many interior variants as we can and a mix of manual / man OD and auto. Originality is the key to show the development of the range. A tatty TC with original hessian backed carpets and spartan dash will be chosen above a pristine one sporting a set of Rimmers finest on the floor and a full HL interior.
To achieve the best variety we need as many volunteers as possible to be potential display cars. From all those that volunteer we shall select the 13 that achieve the greatest mix of interior and exterior colour and drive arrangements. We shall also select reserve cars.
So, we need YOU to volunteer. ALL OF YOU. If you can be at TDCIR please drop me a PM with your model, year, colours in and out and few words on originality. It could well be time for your cars day in the limelight.
I especially need to hear from owners of rarer models as these will be chosen first.

Re: Wanted - YOUR car at TDCIR
Come on people, are there really only going to be 12 cars at TDCIR this year? Not one Toledo going? Adam is going to feel lonely in the FWD corner of the field too.
Stick you neck out, make a commitment and support your club.
This plan for the club stand is in danger of being scrapped in favor of one that doesn't require support from club members.

Hello Tin,
I plan to be at TDCIR. OK it will be in a Sprint, but it is the best colour!
It's one of the later ones, fitted with the badges that remained after the others had all run out.

Sadly Bill passed away in May 2022 but is fondly remembered by all his friends in the Club.

Hi Nutter,
Could you drop me a PM with the inside & outside colours, transmission type and a couple of words on originality & condition. I'd be grateful to add you to the list.
We'll be making a final decision on whether this goes ahead this week and if so selecting cars. As you can see at the moment we have a number of gaps in the display so it's by no means certain.
Cheers

Tinweevil,
I plan to be at TDCIR with my Sprint (Aug 74) It is mimosa and, apart from a CD player, oil cooler, folding s/roof, elect ign, is virtually original (eg no spax or other goodies currently sought after - if you're still short.
Mike
