Hi there mates just few lines to introduce you my next proyect for the summer of 2009...

INTERNATIONAL TRIUMPH MEETING IN NORTH SPAIN JUNE 2009 24th to 28th

Medina de Pomar (Burgos) just about 1 hour from Porsmouth-Bilbao ferry station.

One of the more impressive mountain roads in Spain, with scenic landscapes, good typical foods and spectacular viewpoints.
Enjoy the spanish better backroads guided by an expert in this area (me) visiting all the old villages and taste the good old spanish cuisine
including a visit to the biggest private Rolls-Royce in Europe covering almost every model from the first.

Full board accomodattion scheme all included 450 € per person

We expect about a party of 50 triumphs.

just an idea for a combined holiday/road trip/ spanish meet.

portsmouth to cherbourg 6 hours on ferry (less on fastcat) then 850 miles to Mardrid.

monday midnight crossing gets into Cherbourg tuesday morning means you would be in Madrid wednesday early evening with a laid back drive and long overnight rests and this also allows some breakdown time! and return to blighty monday, this would give you the days in madrid for Rauls gathering and a euro trip in one package.
ferry costs would be £200 or less per car with 2 passengers.

Hi there again just few lines to tell you that due some problems with the accomodation in the hotel that we choose for our International Triumph Meeting 2009 we have change the hotel and venues, the date in june matches with a big sport meeting and possibly all the roads and hotel will be plenty of bycycle riders and this is not a good thing to share the roads with cyclists
all over the week, but not a big problem.. I book a better hotel four stars with nice swimming pool and garden and big secure parking for our cars, it sits in Haro (La Rioja) where we can visit the old famous wine cellars and even better backroads and little villages. The hotel is on the oukskirts of Haro but just walking distance to the old historic town.
In few days I will attach you more details, but for sure that we will be better with this changes. the distance from french border and Bilbao ferry station it is shorter than the other venue and we have two very important things: plenty of good wine and a nice big swimming pool rounded by nice garden with BBQ facilities.

Uhmmm... sounds even better, do you know that curiously the 70% of the exports of Rioja wine go to Great Britain? you got it mates...

Im going to book this week off as soon as i can, all i need to do is keep a triumph roadworthy.should be able to talk Sarah into coming as well.

Confirmed lunch on the Valvanera Monastery up on the Demanda mountains high sierra, an scenic viewpoint where we will enjoy the taste of the old spanish monastery cuisine and taste the famous Valvanera´s Monks Liquor, don´t forget to save some space on the boot to take some bottles to your home...

Just want to remember if anybody have interest to join us that we have yet around 15 bookings... tomorrow could be too late.

Just checked cost of croosing via ferry to Bilboa, it will cost £600 so thats me out of the running unless we can find a cheaper crossing, my first plan of portsmouth to cherbourg and driving will cost just as much.
