However, if it was me doing this, I would ask for permission each time before using a photograph. This is not only good manners but helps avoid accidentally upsetting people.
I can see your point and i take it on board, its very hard to ask everybody first, thats why im trying to put photo's on that arnt showing indevidual people or cars and im only using the photos that have been on this board which is open to the world anyway!! that also why i put the poll on here, and the general feeling is alot of people are happy with it!!

I dont want to upset people, its just a little something for the club outside this forum!!

Iv asked in the motorsport section for some photos of racing dolomites, and i can do an overseans section aswell, just need the photos to do this!!

It would be nice if we can get all aspects of the club into this, meetings/events, cars what ever conditon, overseas..... us lot just having a good time really!!

Im aiming for something like "what an interesting and fun club to join" if someone with a dolly stumbles over this, and of course it should appear in google if Triumph Dolomite is searched!!

All i need now is photos and lots of them and ideas for interesting sections!!

so far iv got...

TDCIR 08
RESTORATIONS
MEETINGS/EVENTS
DOLOMITE GRAVEYARD
RACING DOLOMITES (if i get photos)
OVERSEA DOLOMITES??
REGAILER (had a member suggest this..if we get photos etc)

And anything else you guys want to see on there!!

Im only doing this for fun, if anyone sees something on there that they dont want to see then get in touch and ill remove it asap!!

...but still have implicit copyright with the owner (not necessarily always the same person as who took them) unless they are stated as being "royalty free".

You really do need to ask each and every time just to be on the safe side, and generally should credit the photographer or owner as appropriate. Triumphowners.com gets around this by the individuals uploading the photographs themselves.

All you need is to inadvertently copy a photo that an individual has 'borrowed' from a professional's web page and you would find yourself equally as guilty as they were of copyright theft!

For your own protection I would keep a register of all the source points of the photo's you use.

I see your point Alun and Ian

To be honest if im gonna get myself in crap for doing this i wont do it!

Most of the photos on there belong to myself, and i have had permission to use 90% of the rest!

That is why one of the reasons im asking members to either E-mail me or PM me photos, if they do this they can also add that they give me permission to use them!!

Im gonna leave uploading anymore till i receive them via the two sending options with permission!!

Ofcourse i will upload any of my own photos at my discretion but will blur out any number plates!!

Suppose its the kind of world we live in that people cant do something kind for the club without the risk of a legal case being filed........10 years ago no one would of cared and just enjoyed it!!

Thanks for the heads up anyway!!

Not actually necessary if the photograph was taken in a public place. There are currently no restrictions on photography in public places within the UK.

If you only use photographs taken by yourself and ones received in this manner then I think the issue has gone away.

I would say you can use mine, but I have so few photographs of dolomites its hardly likely you will ask... :?

Hiya Mate,

nath, use as many of mine you like. If I find any pics of the RB twins, I will post em over to you. Not much likelihood of me posting any sports orientated ones to you though

Agree entirely with this, photo theft is rife and frowned upon deeply by those who take their living from it....

Would this be the right time to talk about 1 of my images being used in this issue of DM without consent or attribution!! :)

P.s Help yourself to any of mine Nath....

For example

Hi Nathan

Been busy for a while, so I havn't been keeping up.

Top marks for just getting on with it - you're right about it being a good way to get more people interested in the club.

Happy for you to use any of my photos - I''ll send you some if you pm your email address to me.

Sadly, the other comments about taking care over copyright issues do apply - you're content can be removed without notice if you get it wrong :( This is especially true if the content is hosted in the UK, as the Webhosting company can be held liable for copyright contravention, even though they did not themselves create the content.

Don't let this put you off though - I think it's great idea! :clapping: :clapping:
