parts
Hi Andy ,most parts are availbe via the club either new parts or second hand. A lot of peolple on here have hoards of bits laying around so just ask if you need something (there is a wanted section on the froum)
some parts ,panels ect are member only parts but for the small fee of £26 to join the dolomite club it is well worth it.
also worth looking on ebay but be carefull as some parts are more expensive on the bay.

I second the T.D. Fitchett recommendation. They're just a good old-fashioned mail order firm. Just ring up, order your parts, (they're knowledgable guys) pay with your plastic and they deliver to an address of your choice the next day. I used them quite a bit when Snowdrop needed quite a few bits for the MoT and their delivery service was excellent and the prices were competitive. I also second the club as I got some parts from Steve Waldenberg as well as Fitchett's.

Regardless of model there's also Canley Classics, Wins and Co and Partco/Unipart. If its a 1300 or 1500 then Moss, SC car parts, chic doig, the TSSC, and dozens more will have engine parts. Even Halfords. For an 1850 or sprint there S&S Preparations, Robsport, Jigsaw racing.....
1300 and 1500 are tough as old boots. Turn it over carefully by hand and provided it feels ok check the oil, water and fuel delivery and go for it.
1850 and sprints need a little more careful handling. Remove the plugs and turn over by hand. Provided it feels ok check the oil level and condition and change if it's not good, check water level and antifreeze. If it's got neat water in there after this time you may well have bad news. If you've access to a compression tester then do a test. Otherwise disconnect the coil and turn it over on the starter until you have oil pressure. Do this several times until you can see oil on the rockers. Rest the starter for a minute after each 30 second max crank. If a compression test is OK and you can get oil to the rockers and get pressure then check fuel delivery and go for it.
5 years isn't long at all in a garage. The most likely failure is a hose so be ready for petrol to go everywhere or for a coolant hose to burst when hot. If it doesn't start fairly easily check the plugs, points & coil and drain the carbs and fill with fresh petrol. If it still doesn't start easily report back back with symptoms for more.
Good luck

Mick Dolphin is also a good source of NOS spares.

You need to be careful with Rimmers Repro panels as the fit can be very poor.
