whilst going through some old pics with my Mum over christmas I came across this shot of some of the family. I don't remember my Grandma having a FWD so was a bit of a surprise. Anyway thats me sitting in the front with the strippy shirt, I obviously haven't changed a bit
Would love to know if it still survives, but don't have a shot with the whole number plate
Anyway, maybe this is where I got the bug from and didn't even know it!
My Dads MK3 cortina is just visible on the left, and my Aunty Vals Mini estate.
Its great when you come across pic's like this........
Think iv managed to dig out all the picture's of my mums cars apart from one!!
Wouldnt the DVLA help you out tracing your Grandmas car? if you give them her name they may be able to help you out with the reg.......
it maybe a long shot but the one piece of advice an old boss gave me is.......
" If you dont ask you will never know"
Hope there is away you can find out, be fantastic if the car survives and is in the club!!
I think back then Alan I was more interested in dossing about.
Thats a good idea Nathan, do you think they will have records from 30 odd years ago though? I'll check out their website and investigate. has anyone here traced a car through the DVLA before?
I've got a keeper history before, tells me the name and addresses of all previous keepers of a car. It only cost a fiver IIRC. I don't think there's any political reason why they wouldn't tell you if you give them your Grandmas name, address and a partial reg no. I'm not absolutely certain that they can help tho because the kind of search I did and the fuzz do is based on a reg no based search to get names and addresses. As the old results are scans / microfiche I'm not certain that they can go from a name to a car on the old records. Recent stuff yes, it's all fully electronic. The driver half of the DVLA would be able to search by person but thats just licensing. Give 'em a call on the help number on their web site, I found them quite helpful.
