Where to hide speakers in a Dolly?

#1 Post by HolgerS »

I want to upgrade my car stereo but do not cut holes into the door trim panels. Any ideas where to hide speakers and still having good hifi quality?

I got two boxes made up that sit on the front parcel shelf, and I've got speakers in my back parcel shelf. I'll get a pic for you

The speakers all came with my 1300 Dolomite. Swapped the parcel shelf over and cut the boxxes down to size. Theres two 10 inch subs on the back shelf! But as I don't have an amp the stereo isn't a particularly good one

If you can abide cutting up your doorcards, you can fit a nice set in there...

Either that or on the parcel shelf, in the footwells, on the rear parcel shelf or cut that too and put them in it...

Although the door card material isn't up to much and will distort with big speakers installed.

I think what I'm going to do, becuase I don't really want it too loud, is fit some 6" woofers in the rear parcel shelf, and then put some tweeters underneath the original speaker grille in the dashboard. Not ideal for stero separation, but it'll look really cool.
