oooh Spitfires flying?
Cost me £30 to get in there last time, but then the first thing we saw was a wing of 10 spitties flying at low level...£3 each was a real bargain and the rest of the day was free!

I guess Duxford is where most of the ones in the UK live, so if there are any flying to and fro you would see them there. RR Merlin is definitely my favourite sound. I got to pull the chocks out from underneath a Spitfire Vb when I was an extra in Pearl Harbor, which was fairly epic.xvivalve wrote:oooh Spitfires flying?

Yup.richard4040 wrote:you were an extra in pearl harbor?????

If you are unfortunate enough to own the DVD, there's a section where Ben Affleck's character is flying for the Eagle Squadron. There will be a guy who looks and sounds just like groundskeeper willie from the Simpsons, I'm an engineer buggering about in the cockpit of the spitfire behind him if memory serves me correctly (it was a fair few years ago now).
I've got a picture of me in RAF uniform next to the Spitfire at home.

Will the TDC be putting up a stand? I will be attending in the green Toledo, as I am doing a piece on the event for Triumph World.
