Righ. another full day on the front end on my dolomite 
Im so happy with the way this is coming along . the front end is nearly done and ready for a top coat! So far the only rust i have found is at the bottom of the wings between where the spolier ends at both sides. so i have cut it all out and bridged it with fibreglass. Im very pleased with the results
Ill let the picturs do most of the talking
And thats my progress so far! To say im pleased would be the understatement of the year!

Not much of an update as I started a job yesterday. I have now nearly finished all of the prep on the front end. Just the bonnet and the bottoms of the wings left
Also started making my self a spray booth. Not as amazing as it sounds but still very good for 25 quid. I am going to make sides for it out of tarpaulin sheets and curtain rails

Your Rocking along there Rich
Where you have patched up with fibreglass and bog etc, where there are joins in the panels make sure you cut a gap as the paint will just crack and fall off.

Richard, I don't want to be the one to burst any bubbles here but...
Glassfibre. Hmm. It's okaaaay but not ideal. You should've welded the holes really. The problem is, if you don't eradicate every last speck of rust it will come back, sometimes only days after you topcoat it. And, for example, where you've filled in the bottom of your screen scuttle panel I absolutely guarantee there will be lots of rust on the inside of it. It will expand the join where your glassfibre bridging filler meets the metal and you will have bubbles and other imperfections appear in the shiny stuff surprisingly quickly. Also, on the front wings where you've taken them back to bare metal, correct me if I'm wrong but your picture seems to show a very rough edge to the paint which you've attempted to smooth over with bodyfiller. You should've feathered the edge of the paint until you virtually couldn't feel the step down from paint to metal, then built up the surface of the metal with primer until it was more or less the same level. The problem with doing what you have done is you have inadvertently applied bodyfiller over paint. You never apply filler over paint. Filler goes only on bare metal. When you paint your topcoats over the join within days it will sink in and you will see the join. Guaranteed.
Now, all this is only relevant if you want a really nice job. If you're just 'tarting it up' a bit to look generally better from a distance then don't worry about it.
On the subject of your 'spraybooth', neat idea in principle but be very careful- what kind of paint are you using? If you're just gonna use aerosols then you'll probably get away with it (bare in mind the paint in aerosols is very thin- you'll need a lot of coats. Apply 3 or 4, leave it for a day or two, flat it and repeat. It will take a few months to fully harden). If you're gonna use a compressor and spraygun it's illegal and if the neighbours complain to the council/police you could find yourself in deep sh!t£. Health and safety are Redhot on this subject nowadays... If you're planning on using Cellulose then at the very least you must wear a face mask with a filter cartridge. If you're gonna use 2Pack then you should wear an air-fed mask as the hardener contains Isoscyanates (spelling?) and it's a killer. No exaggeration- look it up. It is evil stuff. If the council got you for using that in a residential area without proper extraction facilities...
Just some advice from an ex pro spray painter. I see a lot of people doing their own painting and while it can be done there is a lot more involved in it than most people realise. I do hope the project goes well though!

The rust at the bottom of the wing was both cut out and treated with rustkiller. I know that fibreglass isnt the best but its what im good at and itl hold
In reguards to the bottom of the windscreen there wasnt really any rust there to be honest just a couple of bubbles that had burst revealing a bit of surface rust underneath. The metal then recieved a very thin layer of filler to fill in any small bumps. You are correct about the wing picture though. I did just wire wheel most of the paint off then leave an edge where the paint and metal meet. and I also admit that i attemted to use filler to cover it up. but after about 2 hours of sanding I realised that it was a terrible idea and put some rough paper on the sander and took it all back off again then feathered it as you say. Ill try and find a pic. Not sure if i took one.
In reguards to my spraying I will be using cellulose with a large compressor and and expensive gun. I didnt know it was illegal to spray outside!?! Ill be putting sides on my "booth" and wearing a very filtered mask and doing it anyways!

Ken. I needed the car up quick and there was a crane nearby! job done!! I know its not ideal but it wont be there long and i dont want to use my cills or anything as jacking points.
