I can only agree. There are some very talented people on this forum.

as i have said before, it isnt my welding! although i do make the patches

and i do some of the cutting out work, and digging around for rust.

i'll pass your compliments onto Alan(if he hasnt seen them already)

lots of progress today!

we decided to attack the other scuttle panel from either side.

cut the patch from the bulkhead out



and the wing section



new bits in and painted



grotty piece



patched area ready for the new one



this is the new piece from the front, looking at it from underneath

considering the size of the hole.....this patch was horrendously large. you can just see where the weld line is

essentially all of these pictures are a mirror image of the other side but i thought id post them anyway.

more rusty bits, i dont like people who dont repair cars properly! i get the feeling most of this rot wouldnt have been there had the bulkhead repairs been properly done

evening all. lots of progress today!

started off by investigating a repair done by the previous owner on the drivers footwell. it looked ok(alot better than the rest of the repairs on the car!)



so we cleaned up the existing weld and added more weld to it, both upwards and downwards through the floor



one side finished in record time, next we marked out passenger footwell and.....



....proceeded to cut it out! fred flintstone car now



tidied the hole up



and welded in, the same way as the other side!



another day tomorrow, really starting to get into the nitty gritty of it now!

My son show's me up every time I try - must go on a course this year...!

Most impressive is your determination - SO much work done in such a short space,
- and to such a high standard! - ...you are setting a bench-mark to the rest of us "Non-mad-marts" !

when you're working on it almost continuously for 10 hours a day it moves on pretty quickly!
