Thanks. I never knew he was interested in such activerties - but then again I know little about him anyway!
Might be worth dropping him a line or two (via his Agent) and see if he has any memories/photos/documentation he would like to share?
Yes very interesting car, shall watch this with interest.

As there was some interest from club memebrs on this Sprint thought I would give an up date............
Wel I have actualy made a "another Start" on my sprint now the winter is coming, underside is good considering the car is 37 yrs old now! all the suspension has now been blasted and powder coated, including hubs and brake drums / calipers, have now got two full sets of brand new looking gold wheels as they have also been treated to a powder coat, one set for the road one set for track days etc.
Once the welding underneath is complete I can repair the few holes on top, only around 10 small welds required so thats good, should be an easy paint job once the few dents and the body is prepaired for paint.
Anyway,,,,, more updates as they happen..
ps; if any one needs one I now have two spare overdrive gearboxes, open to offers as no idea of there value.

See Lional Blair on The Young Ones on the BBC over the last few nights?
Sounds as though he is keen to relive the 1970s - might be a good time to contact him?

Can any one tell me what my Sprint is worth as the wife wants a VW camper??
As you can see I have been working on it, further details are;
10 wheels have been shot blasted and powder coated in gold.
Rear axle, prop, front subframe and all suspension components have been blasted and powder coated in black.
All springs and all brake parts have been blasted and powder coated in red, shocks are all fully adjustable.
This car has done 18000 from new and the engine has done 5000 since being built as a race engine producing 205BHP, it has twin 48 carbs fitted.
Has full roll cage, rally stage timing gear is still fitted to car.
Complete car shot blasted and etch primed apart from doors and roof.
Welding underneath is complete, I intend to stone chip and paint the complete underneath in the nest couple of weeks.
Also included will be lots of photos from its rally days including entry forms confirming what Rallys it entered.
Around 6 small areas on body of car will need welding but I may do them if required.
Include are 2 spare over drive gear boxes, a complete engine and lots of extra trim etc,
If you need more info please call me on 07790 309 417.
Regards
Andy

The car will be totally restored in due course - in safe hands. It was bought intact but needs a lot of work.
