Front shock top mounts....how?

Looking at those threads I do have to earlier type top mount, but one unexpected thing I have noticed is that on both top mounts one of the four studs is off set, poke you style if you will, that means it will only go in in one orientation!
Is this also a feature of the earlier car?
I also note that some of the pictures of the rear damper top bushes have metal inserts, mine don't!?

Non offset mounts are IIRC toledo and 1500 fwd and go with a narrower spring.
All dolomite and Sprint ones are offset as I described.

Aye, I got the offside one spot on first go but after a few goes the nearside is still not right.
