Why don't you use the Rolan tensioner that is what come in the Kit from Rimmers does it have the same issues as the guides
What is the difference between a 2 bolt and a 3 bolt Lucas starter motor [besides the number of bolts] and is it correct the 2 bolt type can't be used in a sprint motor

It beggars belief that they are still shipping out Rolon brand tensioners. It is now 9 years since the one in my car shed its rubber pad after very few miles, the first of many since.
The issue has been isolated to that brand and publicly advertised as such; Rimmers cannot be unaware of this.
Use Robsport; they have assembled a kit using reputable brands...and TDC members get a discount too...though I'm not sure of the quality of guides they use as your's is the first report of problems.
