Just seen another snippet of tonights show. It appears they filled the dolly up with water (I mean the whole car) to prove some meaningless point.
So, it does look like they completely killed it.

Yet back in spring 1990 they extolled it along with the Volvo P1800 as being the best classic buy under £6k what with E types and Astons then heading north of £50k

From Top Gear website for tonights show:
....Unfortunately, they returned with a Rover SD1, a Triumph Dolomite Sprint and an Austin Princess. And a lingering smell of rust and oil.
This week's Big Feature sees them thrash the Seventies not-quite-icons to well beyond an inch of their lives... and get very, very wet in the process.
Don't look good then.

Maybe this is why they are all going so cheaply on ebay at the moment

Yea, they fill 'em up with water.
Don't forget - on the scoreboards, a '0' usually signifies that it was neither here nor there and nothing happened - so not all bad!

Do you know what, that wasn't even funny. The Rover SD1 and Dolly are in my top 5 cars - I feel a letter to points of view coming on???

hmm. wasnt as funny as it could have been, i dont think it was terminal for the dolly, or any of them for that matter.
hand brake thing was just rubbish, dolly back brakes should have done far better.
certainly repairable, all of them.

I'm quite shocked, I expected them to trash it. Aside from a few holes in the roof they've not done a lot of damage to it.
