Very kind words TinDog and very motivational.

I think it will be difficult to beat BFR although PFJ should be at least as good.

Today I cleaned up the rear axle & got it half painted (no LSD  ). One of the trailing arm bolts had seized to the bush spindle so had to be hacksawed off.

Mary got started on refitting the headlining...

how much does mary charge per hour Mart ? she looks to be a specialist in all those fiddly jobs that scare most of us away. Sterling job.

with the back axle, how much do you intend to do ? open up, inspect anmd refill with diff oil ? Would you advise leaving the hubs off when refitting (to save weight) and attach later.

looking great too.

It's not too difficult, but you will need to take out front & rear screens to do it properly, and it's a two man job imo.

Stu, Mary does it for the love of Dollys.

Cover off just for inspection purposes and to drain all the old oil. Will put some inner axle seals in whilst I'm there. I'll be refitting the hubs before I install the axle to the car, then fill with oil. You can leave the hubs off 'til you've installed the axle. It makes it a bit more fiddly to put the hub bolts in and to knock the tab washers over but not that bad. Don't mix up the shims/hubs, keep the two lots seperate so that the same shims go back on the same side with the same hub. Don't fill with oil until the hubs are back on!

Hooray!, axle back in situ. New rear shocks fitted. That's the big jobs out of the way so now I can start putting more things back on the car.

Cheers James.

So, what have I done this weekend? not a lot.

I've tightened all the rear suspension bolts. Attached the handbrake cables. Refitted the LSV. Fitted the front indicators & three of the headlights. Fitted up the two rear doors with glass, handles & locks. Fitted the brake & fuel lines under the car. Fitted new flexi hoses on the front brakes. Fitted the engine stabiliser bar. Fitted the heater blower.

Hopefully I will receive the wheel cylinder kits next week so I can finish the hubs off & also the split rivet thingamejig so that I can fit the last headlight in place.

I also need a water pump repair kit, but there seems to be a lack of them on ebay lately.

The new carpet arrived in the week from Prestige.

Yep, got the carpet from the same place. Haven't tried fitting it yet but I bet they haven't taken my comments on board from last year.

Tonight I fitted the new seals to the wheel cylinders & put the hubs back together. PFJ now has a handbrake. :D Also rebuilt the water pump, so now I'm almost ready to fit the carbs.
