The sprint manifold and downpipes are surprisingly well setup, when I did the maths for my tubular setup I was surprised to come out with lengths for each section of pipe very similar to that of the standard setup

Here's a couple of pictures of the manifold (left) off MSO, which is putting out about 185bhp & a standard manifold (right), the ports are the same size as standard, all work has been done (not by me) at the flange, they have been opened up a lot.

All you need is a matched manifold to the head and opened up by the
Down pipe like the one above,
Perfectly adequate for a road car
My old engine made 185 hp with fettled ex manifold
May have made more with a different cam

Just had a look at those Pete, they look pretty nice, I am very tempted, anyone tried them, or know of a good alternative?

RB do a stainless steel large bore front down pipe.

I have a large bore down pipe in the back of the Octy VRs awaiting fitment to my sprint - I assume you need to modify the manifold to down pipe gasket as well as the manifold to gain the maximum advantage.

I haven't checked the diameter of the holes in the gasket, but yes will need to be opened up to match.

Just checked out RB large bore downpipe & looks similar to the Jigsaw one, I would like to see a picture of the flange from the manifold side to see how well it is made. What I like about the Jigsaw downpipe is it's nice & smooth.

But RB are having a no VAT sale so it is a lot cheaper, so will give them a call tomorrow.

Is the one you have from RB, what's it like?

I will take some pictures tomorrow - I purchased it of ebay many moons ago and was suprised when I saw the sticky label attached - slightly faded etc but I'm sure it quoted a RB part No.

I have checked the pipe its a RB stainless steel standard front pipe TH140 or GEX1569SS - not the large bore pipe as I thought I had - hey but who cares its was way cheaper than today's price and that the ex. vat price, do you still require some pictures.

Just to resurect this thread.

I was looking for a ST style downpipe and system for my Sprint. Jigsasw are out of stock of the downpipes, and wanted £490 for the rest of the system, which would be a little over £600 for both parts, and still needs fitting.

I have since spoken to (and booked in ) my Sprint with JP Exhausts in Macclesfield (they have done other systems for me over the years) - they have quoted £500 plus vat, for a system with 45mm secondaries (same as ST for the downpipe) and the rest of the system to suit - this is with a mount for a lambda sensor, and flanged joints - not sleeved - which means its easy to unbolt the system, or parts of it, if you need to remove it for any reason.

This is built on the car and thus will be a perfect fit.

I think this is good value, especially as the work they have done in the past is far better built than any pheonix system that I have seen.

Its going in on the 8th December for the work, I'll report back with pictures thereafter

I'm wondering how you got on with JP and whether you could post any pictures?

I will be using JP for the exhaust for my track car and would like to know how the experience was?
