Not much to report, wing and starter have arrived, collecting the starter involved an 80 mile round trip on the 900 (Triumph of course)
The starter has been fitted, no shims were required, and it has transformed the cars starting, no nasty noises, and 30 seconds of wiring mods to make it work.
The rear of the lh front wing has been removed, and the nose of the sill is in fair condition, maybe requiring one plate to repair. A look inside has revealed the diaphragm etc to be in good condition.
Unfortunately, whilst removing the old exhaust, I discovered that the fuel line was rotten, I'll leave the rest to your imagination!

I hope Nath mentioned what a fuckery it was getting the exhaust into its component parts.

He did indeed Ken, and one day, I'll tell you about the pain of fitting a mk 1 exhaust to a mk 2 engine in a mk 1 body!

Apologies for the delays, I've been a bit busy with work etc, however, let's see if we can get some pictures to attach, note that the wing is only self tapped on at the moment, there's work to be done on the nose of the sill before it's fitted

Exhaust looks good! Inner wing looks frilly.
Progress is progress however. Good to see some photo's.

Inner wheel arch looks frilly, inner wing looks solid as a solid thing!
Also advised that bottom of windscreen and A pillar would be rotten, they're wrong, it's all nice and solid!
What's really frightening is the lack of paint on the inside of the wing, and the enclosed boxes, hence the white that has been sprayed on to act as protection. Why white?, it was all I'd got knocking around, but it won't be seen once the wing etc is re-attached.

I got confused. Yes, inner wheel arch is frilly.

Right then, quick update, rear brakes overhauled, new cylinders fitted, handbrake freed, lubricated and working.
Brake flexis ordered, 12 inch electric cooling fan arrived, progress slow due to work, and swapping Triumph Trident for BMW R1100Rs.
Fitted some 195/65 x 15 tyres to the back, no fouling problems!
Follow up when the next bit of work is done.

Right, some bits done, coolant system antifreezed, electric fan mount designed, and fabricated, unfortunately distracted by having to service my daughters Fiesta ST.
Had it running for 45 minutes or so to mix the antifreeze in, oohh does that single box system sound nice.
I need to identify what the SU's are that are fitted, as I need some air filters.

Sorry to drag up an older thread, but I love these Mk1 2000s, has there been any progress?
