You can adapt the distributor clamp that is used on the Dolomite 1500.

Seeing this thread reminds me I must look at sending a spare dizzy to CSI in Holland to see if they can fit their gubbins into a standard housing and either use the original cap or something which will fit. I did speak to the man there but haven't got round to digging one out to send.

Would anyone be interested in trialling one if it could be done? It'll be a while before mine's ready.

This has been done before, they were listed via ebay once upon a time.
A drawback of using a Sprint distributor is that you retain the original (type) cap and rotor arm,
although it will look original.

The new 123 distributors were actually a bit cheaper then.

This company has nothing to do with the manufacturer. I haven't seen a sprint one of them but did have a few customers at my former job with tr's that used those conversions to maintain the mechanical rev drive. Two did break. After inspection i found out the conversions are not of a high standard. The 123 itself has a good shaft and bearings. The replacements i did fit on those tr's weren't as smooth as the original.

All attempts at drilling (enlarging) the drive gear have failed,
( Jeroen, I know you told me so ) but Alex Spitfire gave me another
idea,

Put a roll pin(c pin) into the 123 dizzy to bring the hole size down to the drive
gear dimensions.

Now waiting for a roll pin to come in the post.

Also the 123 is shorter than the original dizzy, by about 1/2", but looking at Jeroens
picture, it seems the best way is to remove the original dizzy to block mounting plate ?

After the Magnetronic failure to Stoneleigh a couple weeks ago, the 123 installation is
now 1st priority.

I have changed plans on installing the 123 USB version, and have acquired the Bluetooth
123 now, mainly due to the fact I like the built in immobiliser facility and that I don't
need a laptop to interface.

Also, I am not using the adaptor made by Jeroen for now, (I have two 123's so maybe on
the second one) instead, I am opting for some experimentation with readily available
items, such as the "3h2138" Triumph TR2/3/4 clamp.

Much progress has been made, but I'm short on time to upload the pics, maybe bit later.
If all goes well, it should be an easy DIY mod.

Ok, first thing is to get the drive gear onto the end of the 123,
Inserted a parallel pin into the 123 to reduce the size of the hole, then another through the drive gear, and 123.
The 123 is slightly longer than the old 44d, about 1cm, but that is not a problem.

Drilled two holes through to match the original distributor mounting plate,
The wings do not match up with the original plate, it would have solved a few problems.

The clamp would not mount into the car, and was being raised from the back, which touches the block.

Initially, I used two m6 bolts from the underneath of the clamp, now changed to m5 with a couple of nylocs, the pic explains it better.

The o ring in the picture does not do much, as the ring on the 123 shaft is pretty comforting when put in place, (I was just thinking it might stop the odd oil splatter),.
