Ok here are some photos of a hopefully MOT worthy Bruce. Unfortunalty I still haven't been able to find the phone lead so ive been out with the digital and taken a few finished shots. Anyway here we are.

First is the inner sill. No holes there the patch is visable but will be hidden by the sill carpet anyway. For this reason it probably wouldn't have failed an MOT but it was structural so needed to be repaired. The rest of the passenger floor pan is nice and solid
Image
As you know whilst that was being done the scuttle corners where attacked with the DA and then resprayed. They now look like this
Image

A small amount of extra sanding is still required but it looks reasonable unless you get up close. Here is what my low cost rebuilt arch looks like. Reasonable untill I can afford repair sections
Image

Then moving onto the rear jacking point. The view from the rear wheelarch shows the sill end closed and solid thankfully my welding is starting to look ok.
Image
Looking from underneath there are 3 visible sections but again it should now be lovely and strong. I have tested it and it will jack up from the jacking point. Not that I normally use them anyway. ;)

Image
Final bit was above the spring mount and is a pig to photograph so please excuse the shoddy pic as I was not removing the road wheel for the sake of a photograph.
Image
lastly today saw me rectifying a niggling problem. I had the problem of a gear knob that regularly came off and ended up on the back seat when changing gear. So it has a new one, I know the purist are going to hate me for using a non-triumph item but I think it looks the part and its my car so my way ;D

My cars not had an original knob all the time ive owned it, and personally I think a wooden knob suits the car. I wonder why triumph didn't in the first place really. When I got it had a standard triumph badge on the gear knob but as the whole knob kept coming off I ditched it :D

I can understand perfectly well why you'd want a new knob if your original one kept coming off. What I cannot understand is how the incredible, vanishing knob ended up in the back seat. :o

Because my 1300 has such a nice in my opinion exhaust note that I drive it flat out so I get the burble when its on full throttle. A side effect of this is it makes me change gear a little enthusiastlically resulting in the knob flying off and ending up on the back seat. This did serve to stop me driving like a cock as changing gear fast with a bear shaft hurts your hand.

All fixed now I can enjoy driving enthusiastically without fear of knocking the rear seat passenger out with a flying gear knob :woohoo:

The original gear lever knob is a small black round one.

So driving like a cock causes your knob to fly off and knock out the passenger in the back seat? Oh dear

I still dont get how the knob comes off as if you changed gears properly then you dont actually grab or hold the gear knob, you should use the palm of you hand with finger upwards to change 2-1, 4-3 or 4-1 and with your palm and fingers down to change 1-2, 3-4 and 2-3.
At no point regardless on how fast you cahnge gear should the gearknob be gripped!
You should have been taught this when you took driving lessons.

i dont grip the knob if I did it might not come off :D The old one was such a loose fit that it would come off all by itself and rotate whilst the engine was running. Flat of the palm would knock it off without fail
