Slight update :)

Last night The guys made up a elbow (S14 stainless) with a bit of a downpipe.

finish that off tonight, just need a flexi joint of some sort :)

I then proceeded to make the engine mount mounting points a little stronger by welding in a A-Bar frame, this will ensure there is no movement in this mount and won't fatigue over time :)

Tonight we will be making the exhaust system, then it's a case of the following:-

Wiring, Fueling system, prop (got a piece on order), FMIC and Rad :) Also a little fab work with the back half of the gearbox tunnel and handbrake lever location

it runs!!

Well today me and Paul figured out the fuel system.

We have a high pressure Jag pump delivering the fuel to the CA :) runs at 215lph which will be more than sufficient.

We then had to work out a return as carburettor cars don't need them due to low pressure pumps, and you can't run a low pressure pump on an injection car

Anyhow we drilled a hole in the sender top, and bolted a return nipple into it :)

Then with some tedious wiring the result was this:-

So need to do some tidying up, FMIC piping, Rad pipes, a little welding on the gearbox tunnel and then prop :D

:D Well done. Let this thread be a source of inspiration to all of those who've thought about modifying, only to arrive at the conclusion that it would take years to achieve that first startup.

At this rate, the film of its first trip out onto the roads should be along in a day or two?

Booked it in at the bodyshop for the last week in march. Dan feels it should be achievable, - got a excellent quote for the bodywork :D

I think left to do is.

Tidy the engine bay ( find a place for the air filter, some hoses ect)
Possible relocation of the battery
Fit the prop
Tidy wires
Gearbox tunnel cover needs to go back in.
Fuel line return needs clipping up
MOT

Once its then back at mine.

Off to the body shop to be resprayed and have any dents taken off.

Then its off to autotrim in Plymouth for a new vinal roof and the webasto sunroof needs a refurb.

Then its back to mine and i have a new carpet set to fit :D

I also like your method of attaching the heater hose - tie straps. That might work for me in my XE conversion as it's a bit tight in there now! :D
