Aaaargh!.

Oh well they are fairly common....so an e/window conversion for you then...
Or you could do a different speaker location like the trim under the front parcel shelf at the sides...

Needed a bit of rounding off,

Used a washer to marker pen the handle,

Unfortunately, I don't have a bench grinder and an engineers file is too slow,

Getting better at handle chopping, second and last one, and therefore I encounter a problem,

The e-clip retaining flare did not survive the extraction in a good way and is flaking off,

Now either I heat up the shaft and hammer it, but the knob will not survive, or I drill the
shaft center and screw in a washer, third option get another handle and start again,

unless anyone can suggest otherwise?

I have considered that, but the handles do look nice,

If electric is done later, I will use the existing plastic escucheon and put in a
chrome toggle switch in the center, only prob is it means another door to frame
grommet which in turn means more holes.

Alternatively, these would fit,

Would be a pain to wind/unwind the window.

And it's NOT GOING TO HAPPEN!

Can you run a hacksaw cut around the groove and fit a smaller clip?

Can you drill a small hole through the spindle then put a washer on and a split pin or something of that type to secure and keep the rotation?

Or stop messing up handles and door cards and stick the speakers somewhere else....
(sorry)

I have a universal electric window kit for my Sprint (front only) A mate bought it for his Defender about 20 years ago and never fitted it. The Defender is long gone so I got the kit for free!
So I guess I can spare you a couple of handles!

I'm toying with the idea of using the entire loom from the Omega on my car, it may be a bit on the large side but that's better than being too small! And it has wiring and grommets and stuff for 4 door speakers, electric windows, central locking, courtesy lights etc etc etc/

It's only two handles, I bought the door cards
with the cutouts from a club member (honest).

The front doors are the best place for the speakers,
unless you suggest otherwise (on the other hand
don't make a suggestion :!: ) or was that the suggestion)

On the plus side I have done the front doors remote
central locking, useless for security but does stop
the keys clanking and scratching up around the locks.

Thanks Steve,

I'm ok for handles at the moment, was the Omega central locking individual electric solenoids or BMW type with a central air pump, just curious.

Door grommets can be a pain, door side easy, frame not so.

Gone with Tony's recommendation of another hacksaw cut, but I had to make the goove below the
original yet close as possible to the top of the shaft,

not the best of pics,
1989.jpg
1989.jpg (114.44 KiB) Viewed 762 times
got an e-clip in, (original flew off) somewhere)

20160514_115317_1463223509911.jpg (164.1 KiB) Viewed 762 times
and the end result is a stubby originalish window winder handle,
