I can't over emphasise what Jeroen has said about the mainshaft circlip. Failure of this 6p part has caused me to strip and rebuild more of these and the similar 3 rail boxes than ANY other single fault! (except possibly worn laygear bearings but that's not a catastrophic failure)

It should be in bold, all caps and a nice bright red colour.
