Welsh BMC/BL Get Together SATURDAY 5th September

#1 Post by triumphdolomiteuk »

“Driver’s Seat”
(a monthly motoring magazine ……… but on the radio - exclusive to GTFM 107.9)
Presents
THE WELSH “BMC/BL/ARG GET TOGETHER DAY” 2009MY
Saturday 5th September
In Association with Pontypridd High School, Pontypridd.
If you own a classic BMC/BL/ARG product and/or if you worked for a BMC/BL/ARG dealership or even worked for the company itself – this is the event for you.
We are hoping to have on display a whole host of classic BMC/BL/ARG products and also invite along as many ex-dealership and company employees as possible for a “get together” day.
My name is Ian Edwards and I present “Driver’s Seat” on GTFM Radio and yes this was my idea…but why ?.
Well, I was first bitten by the BL bug when the Allegro was launched (and proud of it..), my fate was sealed at the appearance of the Dolomite Sprint and the rest as they say was (my) history. I passed my test in my dad’s Marina 1.3 coupe and my first car was an Allegro 1300 Super 4dr (so put that in your pipe and smoke it Clarkson !!!). Over the years my other cars have included not one but two Metros (1.3 HLS and a 1.3LE), a Maestro 1.3SL and a “K” plate Rover 414i. A restored Mini 25 currently resides in my garage. Oh, and because of my passion, I worked as a Motability Specialist for Howells of Cardiff (once Wales largest BMC/BL/ARG dealer group) from 1984 to early 1990 and returned in late 1994 for another 18 month stint….and loved every minute of it.
So if you would like to be involved, please get in touch….as I would be delighted to hear from you.
Email - driversseat@gtfm.co.uk or ring me (evenings or weekends) on…01443 791490 or 07969 353 954
“BMC, BL & ARG…GONE BUT NEVER FORGOTTEN…….”
