Wing mirrors, help!

#1 Post by andrew_27 »

Just bought a 1971 Toledo, It doesnt have wing mirrors on either side and never seems to have been fitted with any...would it fail an MOT?
i have a small pile of previous fail and pass certificates for the car, but none have mentioned anything about the mirrors :?:

Afaik, you only need the interior mirror to pass the MOT.
There's a site somewhere that tells what will and won't pass... But I've forgotten it. Will have a look in a minute.

Err, I don't understand that at all!
No idea where I got that idea from then.

You need either a driver's door mirror or an interior mirror for a car of that age, newer cars need the driver's mirror and either the interior mirror or the passenger door mirror.

you can get mirrors that clamp on to the door frame, which is the type i was going to get, but i never got round to it.
