The Birkett Six Hour Relay Race, 30/10/2010

All,
If you are a motorsport fan or competitor and have never been to the Birkett, that you have a treat in store. The usual race events may have one or two races in which you can get involved, the rest is just noise. The Birkett lasts all day, and you can be part of the team as competitor, team member or helper!

The Birkett has been organised by the 750MC since 1947 and this year will be on October the 30th.
, and although it is never advertised it is always has an excess of entries. It takes place at Silverstone and this year, for the first time, it will use the Old Grand Prix circuit, now known as Bridge: http://www.silverstone.co.uk/track/circ ... x-circuit/
It starts at 1115 and finishes at 1715. The team with the largest number of laps wins, on absolute laps and on handicap, so teams with less fast cars have a chance too! The Spitfire Squadron did very well last time, finishing only five laps behind the winners!
There have been Triumph teams in the Birkett for as long as I can remember, and I managed the Spitfire Squadron for several years. But this year I want to form an All-Triumph team, including as many different Triumph models as possible. The new team has opportunities for drivers and their cars, and for team members to perform the many tasks that a race team must do, from lap timing on the pit wall, through maintenence in the garage to observing at the trackside. We also want to see as many Triumpheros at Silverstone as possible to cheer us on!

Plesae contact me, John Davies at: john.r.davies@btinternet.com for more information and to discuss the Birkett.
I'll look forward to seeing you at Silverstone!

I drove in this in 1982 using a Capri RS3100,(team feedback managed by Alec Pringle) our daughter Rebecca was a couple of months old and slept through Tafts highly modified Aston Martin as it thundered past while I was on track the wind from this car shook mine as he flew past 8)
I was invited to race for the next three years but had to sadly decline as a young family was eating all my money.
It is a fantastic race and well worth going to.
track action maniac.

The lunatic is out................heres Jonny!
