YES, YES, YES. If I had the time (and money) I would fly to the UK to take your invitation if you decide not to go. I am bias, an Aston Martin (DB9, Vanquish, or similar) is on my bucket list to own, and to have the opportunity to thrash one around a race track or similar is perfect, and if you break it you can just give it back and say sorry!
Grange Track Experience Days are held at the Millbrook Proving Ground situated
just 40miles north of London in Bedfordshire. It is the UK’s leading multi-purpose
test track facility, covering over 700 acres with 38miles of challenging test
environments.
On a Grange Track Experience Day we have exclusive use of the Millbrook
facility including the purpose built Aston Martin Hospitality Clubhouse. As a
participant you will have the unique opportunity to experience the range of Aston
Martin sports cars with one to one instruction from the highly trained Aston Martin
pro drivers. There is no better way to experience what it feels like to unleash the
awesome power of an Aston Martin along the one-mile straight with no
restrictions other than your own nerve.
The day is divided into two sessions the first session commencing at 9.00 and
concluding with lunch at 12.30, the afternoon session will begin with lunch at
12.30 and end around 5.30. Light refreshments will also be available throughout
the day.
Sounds like a wonderful way to pass some time. Assuming that morning and afternoon sessions cost the same, then go for the afternoon, it's longer so more track time for the money.
The May date is fully booked but my new lady (DB9 volante driver) and I are booked in for August by which time I will definitely have my licence back! It would have gutted me to go along in May to just watch her having fun!
If you've never been to Millbrook before it's great. The mile straight is fun if it's open. Went with Maserati a few years ago and hit a rabbit at 160mph on there! Fortunately the car was OK, the rabbit however was less fortunate.
I've been fortunate enough to go to Millbrook several times a year for the last 10 years or so and still enjoy it but have never driven an Aston there.
