Cars needed for stoneleigh. (official planning thread)
Cars needed for stoneleigh. (official planning thread)
Right chaps, not long to go now and were looking for cars but for the meantime we are looking for one in particular...
This year is the 40th year since the launch of the Dolomite so we car going to be focusing on this.
We are looking for a 1972 Dolomite 1850 in original early spec so it should have early dials, seats with no headrests etc but most off all be on its Original wheels with early 1850 hub caps, it also needs to be in good condition!
So can anyone help us??
You can either come back to us on here or drop me a PM, idealy we need a photo of the car so we know what were having on the stand!!
We will also be looking for a back up car incase anything happends to the first, all ill say is first come first on the stand, with a back up car being picked from any others that were offered!!
We will be looking for other cars but at the moment we just need to source an early 1850!!
Keep checking this thread for updates on cars etc for the show!!
Thanks for now, Coventry area.

Now getting slightly concerned at the lack of response to this thread!
We've come up with a good theme, need other cars than the early dolly, but the early Dolly is a must.
Start volunteering!!!!!

I can't really put Brown forward because it is an 1850HL in all but name.
I'd still like to go to the show. I haven't been for a few years.

Re: Cars needed for stoneleigh. (official planning thread)
I think that what is required is a Club member with an original-spec 1972 Dolomite (1854cc) to bring their car along to the show and display it on the Club stand. I don't think the intention is for the Club to actually buy a car....

LOL, I know that, just thought you could maybe contact the current owner or perhaps the new owner might fancy it!
Re: Cars needed for stoneleigh. (official planning thread)
Nathan, I have just seen Andy's email, expressing understandable concern. I would love to be able to help, but I'm afraid that I have a prior commitment, entered into many months ago, with the Jensen Owners' Club, at the Coventry Transport Museum, the very same day. Next year, if there's the same clash, I promise to help the TDC instead, if humanly possible.

Hi Nathan,
I have replied to Andy's email. I don't have an 1850 and my car isn't on the road at present but I have said I can come up to help for 2-3 hours on the day, although won't be there until about 11 am.
Please pm me with any details if you would like me to help.

Nathan
I will be there all being well, and available to help out in any way I can. No Dolomite though.
I am conscious I owe you a phone call from your message whilst I was in Switzerland, but have lost your phone number. PM me and we'll have a chat.
