On 'drive it day' we'll be doing just that. There will be 10 Triumphs competing at Gurston Down, near Salisbury. see http://www.gurstondown.org
There are 9 TR's and my 1300 Spitfire. Should be fun, the Spitfire is lighter and more nimble, but way down on power compared to the TR's. We'll see...
Spectators are more than welcome, there's a good cafe (full english £5) and most of the track can be seen from the spectator area halfway up the hill. Although I should mention that there's a tenner a head admission fee.
Any Triumph spectators would be more than welcome as we try and give the healy's a run for their money!
10 Triumphs Competing at Gurston 22nd April
Re: 10 Triumphs at Gusrton 22/4 +130 others...
I realise I should have mentioned something about the other 130 cars that will be at Gurston. The entry list is on the web at http://www.gurstondown.org/wp-content/u ... lSun12.pdf
There's everything there from 1950's motorcycle engined cooper's, where the driver can be seen holding onto the outside of the car to stay in his seat, through to 5 litre V8 race cars that can top 150mph as they cross the finish line. And at this event the bikes will be there too, and they're quite a spectacle on the faster corners.
Such a large number of entries and wide variety of cars and bikes makes for a great day's spectator sport.
Combined with a great full English for a fiver, what's not to like...
