Hello,
From what i've read on here i believe my car is running way too rich and going to have a go at balancing the carbs,i have screwed both mixture screws all the way up and found that one had been turned approx half a turn out more(A starting point is 2 turns out?)
I have also screwed down idling/tick over screws, one was nearly a whole turn out more than the other, what is a rough guide to screw these out to start with please??
Car is an 1850 with SU carbs.
Cheers
Taff
Idle/tickover screw??
Re: Idle/tickover screw??
Every car is different depending on a lot of variables, but the usual way is to turn the mixture nuts twelve flats down to get to a sensible starting point. From there the idle screws should be adjusted to get to around 750-800rpm idle speed, with each carburettor sucking the same amount of air.
