Sprint Alloys - Early and Late ones

#1 Post by Andy555 »

I was offered 8 Sprint Alloys today for £60 that have all been sprayed in a thick black paint.
Not sure of what the i.d / stamping is on them as i can not see a thing due to the paint, and matey boy won't let me remove any paint at all to see/ identify what any of them state.

I know that Dolly's have different wheel nuts for earlier models and later models, my question is are the alloys also earlier and later, and are they interchangable on early and late Dolly's?

Cheers.

They are all interchangeable. The only thing that changed was the stud and nut size from mid '76 cars onwards (3/8 - 7/16), the larger stud but skinnier nut sleeve mean that there is no wheel modification needed.

So just the nuts to consider then, dependant on the year of the car?.

As far as I'm aware yes. They changed at some point during '76.
