Saw that the glove box of my late Sprint has a rectangular opening in the top side. Seems to be original and looks like it was for a courtesy light in the glove box but I did not find anything like that in the late spare part catalogue. Was there ever a plan to install such a light or was it even installed for some models or markets? If not, which light would fit perfectly into the opening (e.g. the one from the Stag or the 2.5 saloon or .....)?
I've never seen one and never found one to fit in other triumphs. If you look at the metal plunger that pushes the door open a bit you'll find it is a switch so everything is there but the wire and the light.
Yep, always wondered this myself and I think we discussed it on the old forum. I have one fitted in my Track Sprint but it's just an after market light.
Sprintless for the first time in 35+ years. ... Still Sprintless.
Engines, Gearboxes, Overdrives etc. rebuilt. PM me.
The stag fitmant ones are they not in the lid itself in a little black enclosure that "throws" light into the glovebox ( also meaning that you can have a ( quite useless ) map light!?
Thats what my dads stags like ( if i remember correctly)
In the four or five i've taken there have just been rectangular holes cut it the top of the box and the switch not wired in used as a spring to help it open

Could you post a photo from that light and any other interesting details? May be there is even a part number on it?
i can't see a part number but then i have not really tried to get it out.. as i am restricted time wise but i will try in the next week... i hope it helps...[/img]
