Britpart electronic ignition kit

Bought a Britpart kit electronic ignition kit, and to be honest, the instructions aren't exactly clear. Long stroy short, it isn't working. One of the screws, the one used to hold the black earthing wire is no longer long enough to fit. Does it need the earthing wire, or can I just remove it?

Fixed it, I left the immobiliser on, bit thick. Timing is way off, next thing to fix.

Just fitted an electroinc ignition and Coil this afternoon. We had to adjust the timing as well, but it's running really nice now. Finally got rid of the misfire!
