NORTHERN DOLLY DAY 2013 Sun 16th June

#1 Post by eveshamcroft »

With luck and fair weather(!) this year's event is planned for Sunday 16th June.
Those of you who wanted to attend last year are asked to contact Steve W for a 2013 entry pass. The club has paid for 15 entries, so additional members can come along this year as only 10 or so booked in for last time.

I will need details, so even if you did book in last time, please make contact - use the e mail address in Dolly Mixture if you do not have my phone number. If you did not book in last time but want to attend this year, again please get in touch. Without an entry pass you will not be allowed to enter the rally site.

Forgot to mention for any new comers - the event takes place at HAREWOOD HOUSE, twixt Leeds & Harrogate on the A61

Steve has already e-mailed me so barring any more wet weather it should be a good one.

Is anybody else attending?

Hi Just joined Dolly Club yesterday and only live 20 miles away from Harewood House. I have an unrestored 1982 1300 pastwinner of several trophies but now needing a small amount of cosmetic work that I am collecting tommorrow. I would like to come to the Northern Dolly Day (car permitting), could someone tell me how to get a ticket, I dont have any Dolly Mixtures to get the address off.

Thanks

It is nearly upon us. Who else is going besdies "RobSun"? I would imagine that Roger & Kath (non-forum members with a nice Sapphire 1500TC) will be there and David (local Area Rep with an equally nice Maple Toledo) as well.

I hope the weather stays dry. According to the BBC website, it should stay dry and the currant bun might even make and appearance!

Apart from a few showers the weather held up. It was a good turnout with a variety of cars (no Toledos, unfortunately). I'll let my photos do the talking.

Thanks Dave for posting the photos, It was a decent day and not a bad turn out. :bluewave:
Next year we may go a bit further "up north" for an event. Our "man in the North East" is going to suss out a venue. The arboretum near Bedale is one good possibility.

I came round a few times hoping to catch you. The 1500 auto must be one of the rarest Dollies. According to 2003 DVLA statistics there were only 9 left. According to howmanyleft, there are no more than 5 that are taxed or on SORN in 2012.

that is a shame, I was out and about enjoying the show. I had no idea it was so rare, I have had it for about 2 months now. I live in London but I am originally from Bradford and was doing some father son bonding which is why i was up north again. I picked up the car in Surrey but oddly the car was first registered in Whetherby just a few miles from Harewood house.
