New here and trying to find an old car of mine - OPU 246K

I thought I would say a quick hello, I'm a past Triumph owner and am trying to locate my old car.

Back in 1997 my Grandad passed his car to me, a Green 1971 1500 fwd reg OPU 246K, The mileage was 60 something I think.
The car was in fairly good condition bar a couple of holes here and there, he had kept the car garaged for many years.

Being young I wanted something quicker so after a year or two I moved and on and the car went to a cousin who used it and we beileve then just left it in a layby somewhere. This is a real shame and something we all regret and wish we would not have let happen.

We would dearly love this car back in the family to restore but I think it's a really long shot and suspect it's long since be crushed.

Checking on the DVLA website it doesn't show as scrapped but this isn't always accurate.

If by any slim chance someone recognises the reg as the car is sitting neglected in a yard somewhere or has stripped the car for parts etc in the past we would really like to know.

The last time it was taxed was 2000.There is still hope if you sold it to an enthusiast.

Sadly it wasn't sold, he just left it parked up apparently and doesn't know what happened to it after that.
