Club sills fitted and club GRP wings and front panel, the holes at the original numberplate area were my own idea to get more air into the Saab rad I have fitted!

I have made a slow start today on Chuckie, many thanks has to goto Alun for his great service supplying the panels.
I've started with the nearside cill. Looks like I will be renewing parts of the inner cill while I'm at it

A little more progress today, I have put a step in the rear section and trimmed the edges so the new section should sit snugly in place.
I've chopped some inner section out ready to let in some new.
Also I think I may cut out and weld in a small piece that sits under the lower wing section as you'll see it warrants renewal if I'm to do a job that's going to last.
I was surprised at how good it was inside considering it hadn't been waxoyled, however I'm going to need to do this once its all welded. Any suggestions on the best way to do this?
Should I coat the edges to be welded in any sort of coating, such as zinc spray?

When I did the same work on my 1300fw earlier this year I used weld through primer on all the edges that were to be welded, worked great and you have the satisfaction that there is something there protecting the edges, I used a brush on type I bought from Stoneleigh, id never used it before but I was impressed with it.

When you have completed the rebuild the easiest way of getting wax oil in the sills was to drill some holes on the "upper" sill, around the area that is usually covered with the tread plate, I blasted about 1.5L each side using a compressor.....once your done refit the tread plates and nobody is non the wiser that its been done like that!
