heater problem
heater problem
Having problems with the heater on my '73 1850 auto. Basically it isnt heating! The valve is connected but there seem to be little or no water flow though the heater matix. The pipe to the heater valve gets warm but the return pipe does not. I have known it push out hot air once, but only once!

Sounds like an airlock to me (could be a blockage but that seems less likely).
Mine have always been very efficient, too efficient sometimes.
I have never encountered heater problems on a dolly, but my initial approach would be to drain the system (saving the coolant if its worth reusing) then refill slowly with the heater set to on (ie hot). I'd take the thermostat out to refill it but only because I am not very patient!
Others will be able to tell you more....
