Project AJP8 Update

#1 Post by SprintV8 »

Brake servo and master cylinder's (brake and clutch)have been removed along with the heater fan motor assy that use to sit against the bulk head.
New Pedal box and master cylinder's ordered should be with me Friday next week's job.

AJP8 is now sitting in the engine bay of the Sprint on a newly fabricated gearbox mount.
Hopefully sort the Engine mount's out tomorrow and then make room for the Cerbera Exhaust Manifold's.
All in all not a bad couple of day's work.

Picture's to follow at the weekend.

I may change mine to hydraulic clutch over the winter as im taking the engine out it just looked a little tight to do it by the steering column.

I only asked because I thought you needed a functioning windscreen demister to get an MoT. That depends on how thorough your MoT tester is though.
I had a Fiesta a while back with a non functioning and it was OK once you got moving, but was a nightmare if you jumped in all wet on a rainy day and steamed it up.
You should have seen everyone at Donington on Sunday driving back into the paddock with their heads stuck out the side window.

That's a new one on me David. I've never seen an MOT tester test a demister before. :?
Sprintless for the first time in 35+ years. :boggle2: ... Still Sprintless.

Maybe I'm thinking about SVA. Locost seven builders use a 12V travel hairdryer and some ducting. Or they leave the screen off their car! So maybe construction and use rules say you need one, but it's not and MoT item. Still don't fancy not having one mind.

Yep, a demister is required for the SVA, but not for the MoT.

If you've got "half moon" type screens, a demister and wipers are not required for the SVA.

If its an issue just get a 12v plug in heater/blower from your local motor factors. You could probably duct some fresh air from one of the eyeball vents if you want to use it as a proper demister.

Something like this

Thats my Plan anyway.
