Thinners containers

#1 Post by tinweevil »

I've just poured 4 litres of brown thinners out of a 5 litre can that I can now re purpose as a colander. The thinners is brown because it is full of rust flakes and unusable even for wiping down. This is the third time it's happened to me. First time I just thought 'funny, thought I had half a can of that left' & didn't twig what had happened. Second time the lean-to workshop at our old house absolutely stank one morning, about an inch left in the can again from about half full before the leak. This time one hole a week ago was two yesterday, then three this morning. By the time I'd rounded up some old milk bottles it was:

How is it legal to sell a controlled substance in a container that dissolves in presence of that substance? Anyone know where I can get thinners in a can that isn't made of old Fiats?

I have somecelly thinners in a plastic 5l can, been there for ages. Think it is an antifreeze can, not sure which plastic though.
Other answer is to use it faster! But I know exactly what you mean.

I buy mine from a local indy paint supplier, not had any problems so far.
