1500 Hand Brake Actuating Lever

#1 Post by mjump »

I need a set of the above for my 1500 Dolly. I live quite close to Quillers in South East London but have had such bad experiences with them in the past I try to only use them as a very VERY last resort. Can anyone on here help me out?

Thanks.

The levers that operate the handbrake adjustment ratchets?

I got mine from Mick Dolphin, I am pretty sure he supplied me with the last he had of one side. However he may have restocked by now?

I believe they were also fitted to the GT6 so that might be an avenue to research.

Once I was told by someone who worked on the cars when they were current that a "fix" was to build up the worn ends with weld and then filed back to profile which may help if you are unable to locate any.

This is a diagram from rimmer bros. It illustrated the hand brake set up from a TR6. number 88 is the part I am after though the one specific to the 1500 obviously. Rimmers have some reconditioned ones for a 1300 however they differ on the 1500.

This is the 1300 part (6th from the bottom)

I see these parts are common for most of the Dolomite range.
521007 left-hand and 521008 right-hand.
I did have a quick search of the usual suppliers and their web-sites report back as not known.
Rimmers do cross-refer to another part number though. I think I would try ringing around to see who has what 2nd hand TBH.
Good Luck with your search,
Tony.

There was a post a few months ago linking to someone who had remade GT6 items, I think it was someone in TSSC.

Geoff at Winns is the business.

You could also try Paddocks and Ficthetts. Both always do me well.

Great, thanks for all your help. Winns will be my first calling point. I will let you know how I get on.

Well I rang round all advised places but nobody can help. Pretty illusive part. Even Quillers couldn't help.

Looks like i'm buggered.

Thanks again for your suggestions though. If I do come across one, I will post it up on here.
